Faculty-Led Program Planning Resources
Faculty interested in developing a short-term faculty-led study abroad program are encouraged to speak initially with the Center for International Education Abroad and to review the handbook for faculty-led programs on the CIEA website. A draft syllabus and tentative itinerary must be submitted to the department chair and dean for initial approval to pursue developing a program. Further approvals are required from the Executive Director of International Education, the Comptroller and the Provost. If the course is new, it will also need to be approved by the Undergraduate Council and Faculty Senate. Due to the lengthy approval, development and recruitment timeline, faculty are encouraged to begin the process at least two years before they intend to lead a program.
