Course Title: Music & Culture in Italy

Credit Hours: 3

Dates of the Course: March 6 -17, 2008

Instructors: Dr. Sam McClure

Course Description: This course will focus on 15th - 20th century music, art, and architecture from an historical and cultural perspective. Students will tour historically important sites, art and music museums and significant buildings. Students will attend an opera performance at a major international venue such as La Scala (Milan) and prepare music for a joint concert with students from the Boccherini Conservatory in Lucca. While in Cremona, students will visit internationally renowned string instrument makers and tour the Stradivari Museum.
